What started as a small store in the hub of Kuwait city, spread its roots all over the nation. The late Jassim Mohammad Ali Al Wazzan, our risk-taking business savant, was a man with a vision. Having an eye for the right investments helped him grow the company from a single to now, a legacy called the Mezzan Group.
He began his journey by forging exclusive deals with foreign manufacturers such as Pillsbury Flour, Claire Ghee, Baird’s Vinegar, Crystal Hot Sauces and other such commodities.To this day, these brands are a Middle East staple and distinguished members of the Alwazzan family.
Khazan, the illustrious division of the Mezzan Company, however, saw its humble beginnings as a distribution company known as the Conserved Foodstuff Distributing Company.Now one of the top producers and distributors of premium meat and poultry products, Khazan grew to be a household name during the 1960s.Back then, halal meat, a prerequisite in Middle East households, was difficult to produce and process at a scale suitable for the masses.Khazan managed to accomplish this feat and more.

It all began with Jassim Alwazzan, the astute founder and entrepreneur of Khazan, who at the time, was looking for a business opportunity to serve the community in Kuwait with all the essential household needs
A small shop was set up in one of the old markets of Kuwait City that only established itself as a one-stop-shop for all those looking to fulfil their daily household staples requirement, but consistently grew to solely rely on imports and become one of the largest companies in Kuwait and the Middle East region.

Established as a family business.
From a small store in the heart of the Kuwait City market, to an established well-known family business, Khazan was established as a partnership with the first letter of the name of Khalid Al-Mutawa and the last three letters of the family name of Jassim Al-Wazzan.
Khazan meat factory sharjah
With the focus shifting from foodstuff distribution to manufacturing, Khazan brought a new wave of products into the market. The European influence brought with it the introduction of new products such as burgers, mortadella etc. Today, Khazan supplies to all the major food chains and retailers across the UAE. With such a wide range of products and a vast distribution network, you can find our products in all the leading supermarkets, hypermarkets such as Carrefour, Lulu, Spinneys, etc. and other convenience stores.
Extending the range by including wagyu beef burger, ready to eat Marinated chicken breast
Adding the Wagyu Beef Burger and a ready-to-eat marinated chicken range, further enhanced our portfolio of existing products. The Wagyu burgers, made from premium, gourmet meat as well as the ready-to-eat marinated chicken range introduced in five new flavours, was launched specially for patrons as we believe in only serving the very best to each one of our customers. Every year we launch new products with a careful understanding of the market we serve.
Expansion in the KSA market
In 2020, we expanded into the KSA market while understanding the local community needs. Our range of ready-to-cook marinated chicken, frozen meats as well as deli cuts helped us establish a stronghold in KSA with little to no difficulty at all.
